Attorney
Steven Walter is a civil litigator and licensed patent attorney whose practice spans intellectual property, business litigation, and family law, with particular depth in patent prosecution and technology-driven matters.
Steven brings a rare combination of legal and technical credentials to his practice. Before joining the firm, he worked in patent prosecution, preparing and prosecuting patent applications on behalf of inventors. He worked extensively with Samsung’s engineering teams on patent applications for inventions incorporated into the 802.11 wireless standard, as developed by the IEEE — giving him direct experience at the intersection of cutting-edge technology and intellectual property law.
Steven is a registered patent agent and attorney with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. During law school at Chapman University’s Fowler School of Law, he passed the USPTO Registration Examination and participated in the Prosecution Clinic, where he took depositions of police witnesses at preliminary hearings. He holds a B.S. in Computer Science with a focus on Data Science from Santa Clara University, a technical foundation that informs his approach to complex IP and technology matters.
