Ben West is a trial lawyer who represents clients in complex commercial litigation across California and Nevada, with particular depth in intellectual property, corporate and contract disputes, employment matters, securities, and solar energy litigation.
Ben has served as trial and arbitration counsel in matters ranging from nine-figure class actions to trade secret and antitrust disputes, obtaining significant verdicts and favorable results for clients across a broad range of industries. He is known for bringing disciplined efficiency to complex litigation — identifying the highest-leverage strategies and executing them with precision.
Ben also represents solar installers and financers in disputes throughout California, with experience spanning regulatory proceedings before the Contractors State License Board, consumer and class action defense, construction defect claims, warranty disputes under the Song-Beverly Act, and debt collection defense under the Rosenthal Act and federal FDCPA.
Ben earned his J.D. from Brigham Young University J. Reuben Clark Law School, where he served as an Editor of the Brigham Young University Law Review and was inducted into the Order of the Barristers. He interned for the Honorable Dee Benson of the United States District Court for the District of Utah.

Part of the trial team that obtained a $677 million jury verdict following a six-month trial against the owner and operator of skilled nursing facilities in California. The verdict was the largest in the country in 2010 and was recognized by both the Los Angeles and San Francisco Daily Journal as a top plaintiff verdict in California that year. - Trials & Verdicts
Obtained a unanimous jury verdict of nearly $5 million on behalf of a furniture manufacturer against its lumber supplier for breach of contract, breach of implied warranties, and violation of the federal Consumer Products Safety Act. - Intellectual Property
Served as counsel to a patent holder in extended multi-year patent infringement litigation, gaining substantial experience in the management and strategy of large-scale patent disputes. - Trade Secret Litigation
Part of the trial team that obtained a multimillion-dollar trade secret verdict for a client whose former employees misappropriated valuable trade secrets and used them to establish a competing business. - Trademark & Trade Dress Litigation
Served as counsel to a major American brewer in trade dress infringement and copyright litigation, and represented clients in trademark disputes involving unauthorized use of protected brand identifiers. - Antitrust
Obtained dismissal of antitrust claims against physicians in a hospital credentialing dispute and against a trade association in litigation involving alleged anticompetitive practices in the bowling industry. - General Commercial & Personal Injury
Represented clients in commercial and personal injury litigation, including obtaining a unanimous $1 million jury verdict for a delivery truck injury victim and representing homeowners in litigation against a Las Vegas casino developer. - Solar Litigation
